The Gran Sabana is located in the eastern part of Venezuela and includes a large expanse of plateau which is dominated by open savannas that emphasize the numerous Tepuyes. This river has an important purpose for the country because its waters feed the Guri Dam, the largest hydroelectric plant in Venezuela.
